Αt the heart of the cosmopolitan village-port of Batsi, in the island of Andros, an 8,000 square meter area is on sale. Villa `Evanthia` is a neoclassic, two-story house in good shape, of approximately 300 sq m. It was designed by a foreign architect at the end of the 19th century and Italian painters have decorated the ceilings which maintain their original colors. The exterior walls are 0,80m., which becomes 0,60m at the 1st floor. A stone-built staircase, perpendicular to the building`s axis, leads to an open-air veranda with built-in seats, at the front of the house. It becomes covered by a triple archway on its way to the house, to protect from rain and wind. At the first floor there is also a covered veranda by a triple archway. The ground floor and the 1st floor consist of a wide central hall (along the building`s axis) on each side of which there are two rooms. The hight of the ground floor is 4,10m and that of the 1st floor is 4,00m. At the space beneath the open-air veranda and part of the ground floor there are two big store-rooms, 2,50m in hight. The roof is made of cypress logs and is covered by byzantine type of tiles. The condition of the house is generally good, keeping in mind its age and the limited maintenance works that have been done until this day.
